As someone who has spent more than two decades leading enterprise SaaS implementations, I don't see that happening. What I do see is something more interesting: AI is redefining what makes a consultant valuable.
The future doesn't belong to consultants who spend their days updating spreadsheets, writing meeting minutes, preparing test scripts, or chasing status updates. Those activities are increasingly becoming AI-assisted.
The future belongs to consultants who understand businesses, connect the dots across functions, guide stakeholders through change, and make sound implementation decisions.
In other words, AI isn't replacing consultants. It's replacing repetitive implementation work.
